In the capital of Utah things are quiet, sleepy even. Though Salt Lake is the biggest city in the state, it still has a small feel with its population of 180,000. There is an order, a peace, a tranquility to this city. Neither gluttony nor sloth seems present and if it weren't for tinges of the past lurking beneath the surface it might very well be the most virtuous place on earth, a modern day Goshen.
The longer you call Salt Lake home, the less pleasant it seems. It's not as pretty as it once appeared; it's just like everywhere else. People have their secrets. They lie, they slip into vanity, they follow their own desires, they fall into sin. There's so much more to this city than meets the eye, and maybe that's not such a good thing. At the end of the day when you look a little closer everyone is just looking for God's fingerprints somewhere.
